Built in 1936, Blackbeard's Lodge (originally The Wahab Village Inn) is by far the most historic – older by more than 20 years – of any existing "rooms for hire" available on Ocracoke Island. There are 37 unique and affordable rooms and apartments, some with complete kitchens, others with various combinations of whirlpool baths, king size beds, and wet bars. Blackbeard's boasts the only hotel game room on the island, swimming pool, and a fleet of bicycles. Centrally located within easy walking and biking distance to all the islands gift shops, restaurants, artist outlets and other points of interest. They also specialize in family vacations.
